Aphrodite's war.

Absolutely completely obsessed with spring 2014 Dolce and Gabbana hair. If I could perfectly envision aphrodite going to battle, this is what it would look like. The perfect combination of fragile beauty and the subtle reminder of edge, and intention. I stalk these pictures, so I figured I'd reblog them! I stole these off Tumblr like a thief in the night (again) so these images are by no means mine...Enjoy scrolling! Hearts!

Here are some gifs of Dolce Models being Glittery and wonderful. *sigh* SO MANY JEWELS.

I finally got the shoes, and I couldn't love them more.

I'm so beyond excited about these shoes. I'm going to sleep in them, I'm going to take them to dinner and buy them a steak. Seriously considering buying them jewelry. They're technically Deena and Ozzy, from Urban outfitters but they're knockoffs of Ann Demeulemeester, who is a goddess. The outfit itself isn't anything special, but these shoes needed to be shared! I'll post something better with them later. Hearts!

Some things just need to be seen pt. 2

A lot of people have a problem with over advertising a brand on clothing. I can understand when that judgement falls on Boy London plastered 300 times on a sweatshirt, or Abercrombie and Fitch Est. 19-whenever they rose from hell. That would bug me. However, it only bothers me because the brand has so little valuable history. Keep in mind this is my opinion. Chanel, Dior, and many other fabulous names don't deserve the same annoyance. When I see the double C, I don't think "Oh god. Could you just not?!" I think, well hot damn Coco was one firecracker of a lady. Good on them.

Just thought I would share. Here's some beautiful Chanel, and a bit 'o McQueen 'n Lacroix.

God I love spring.

There are few things more beautiful than stepping out in the morning after a long hard winter and finding yourself...warm. 60 degrees feels like a blessing, and I can't get enough of it. Just an OOTD, because I'm in love with these pants :D

Vintage bliss

This hair has a vintage appeal to it that I decided not to try to fight. I mean who doesn't love the feminine cashmere of the 50's? Trick question, no one.

Lets get a little personal.

Some places feel more like home than others. For some people it's their summer camp, for others it's the halls of their high school, their workplace, or wherever their family is. I spent my childhood summers in Aix En Provence, and for those of you who don't know, it is my hearts home. I can fantasize about the glamour, grit, and reality of my soon to be New-York life, but when it comes down to it I am only really happy, and at home, in a very few places in this world. Aix is one of them.

I can't take credit for these pictures, I stole them off tumblr like a thief in the night, but there is a memory attached to each of these pictures, as I can recognize every one, and the streets they're on. Everyone needs an "Aix" in their life. Hearts!

I believe we would walk down this road on our way back from the Cathedral on sunday mornings. You haven't seen light until you've seen it through ancient stained glass.

I've only ever been here a few times that I can remember, but it's close to the bookstore that my mom used to buy beautiful old books from, and I mean really old. It's actually a resort near a spring.

This is the square at night, probably mid-fall. I would sit and pet the moss while my babysitter and Mom shopped in the pop-up stores alongside the place de la ville.

This fountain is on the same street as the one above, just a little farther back.

This was a block-ish away from my favorite Jewelry store. How I miss the glimmer.

Cezanne's studio! I actually only went here once, but when I did I proceeded to touch most of the things with a "ne touchez pas s'il vous plaĆ®t" sign on them, and almost got us kicked out. It probably didn't help that we were american haha.

AAHHHhhhhHHHHhhhHHH! This either is right next to, or actually is the best bon-bon shop in the whole wide world. They had antique barrels full of the best salt water caramels you could imagine.

Ah the soap, perfume, and various sprays that only the south of france can provide....

These are the lavender fields. When Aix gets hot, it gets 110 degrees hot, and making that drive up the hills with two kids and no air conditioning really did a number on all of us. I didn't appreciate the beauty then, but I do now.

Beyond Aix, we would take weeks long road trips throughout France, though I can say with certainty that I never stepped foot in the streets of Paris. It's probably a good thing, I wouldn't have understood the history, beauty, or gravity of the place I was in. I wish I could say this is all just overly romanticized, but this place really is as magical as it looks. Thanks for reading, if you did. You now know a little more about me :)

Love to all!

Pin curls 101

This is basically a very brief, probably completely unhelpful introduction to pin-curls. You're welcome in advance.
So I met this beautiful girl through a friend, my man-friend to be specific and she graciously accepted my offer to be on my blog, which I proposed with puppy-like enthusiasm. I mean Jesus. Lookit that hair. Lookit that FACE. Anyway, a "tutorial" post had been brewing in my pot for quite some time now, and I settled on one of the simpler ones. Pin Curls. Easily done, though not without patience. I'll list steps below, and they'll correlate to the pictures left to right starting at the top. <3. Hearts!

1. Start with blow-dried hair, doesn't have to be pin straight. Use heat protectant, because you're about to destroy your hair in the name of vanity.

2. Using hair clips, bobby pins, whatever you like, start curling your hair in one inch sections. Make sure you rotate the barrel, or straightener so the hair curls TOWARDS your face. You want to continue this all the way to the other side of your face, for that retro wave effect.

3. Once you've got your whole head pinned up, hairspray it. NOW DON'T TOUCH IT. Go do your makeup, have a cigarette, facebook stalk your ex's. I don't care, just don't touch it.

4. After about ten minutes, or however long it takes you to reassure yourself that you're prettier than your ex's boo, or take a leisurely smoke, take the pins out. DON'T BRUSH YET. One more hairspray. Let that dry and set, (2 min)

5. NOW BRUSH. BRUSH. BRUSH. you actually want it to feel like there's no hairspray in it. See how soft it looks in the last picture? That's a lot of brushing. I don't care if it hurts. Brush it.

Thanks for reading! Have fun, in the name of vanity! Love to all.

I may do another tutorial, but... Better. We'll see. <3
